The game is packed into one Zip file. Simply unzip using Winzip and follow the setup instructions.

This is version ? of the game.

Setup Instructions
------------------------------------------
1) The game must be installed to C:\wardark
2) From C:\wardark DblClick on Setup.bat - This copies some files and then calls setup.exe which adds in the registry entries.
3) DblClick engrel.exe to start the game. If you have WinXP everything runs fine.

But if you have Win98 (and probably 95/Me) setup.exe says that it installs the registry entries, but doesn't. (And the problem isn't the .bat file.

To enter the Reg keys manually copy and paste the details below into a blank notepad file. Save it as dark.reg.

RClick on the file and then select "merge".

Then DblClick engrel.exe to start the game.

The game should now run.

However, if you end up at the "Black Screen of Death" you will need to use C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\DXDIAG.EXE to disable "hardware acceleration" and decrease "hardware sound acceleration" down to the basic level.

Misc:

If for some reason the .reg entries don't get added for you with WinXP, you can use winxp.reg add them the same way as above. The winxp.reg file should also work with Win2000.

These .reg files should also work with other versions of Windows. If they don't (i.e. you get an invalid file error message) it will be because it doesn't like the header. If that happens check out one of the .reg files already on your system (or export a .reg key and see what it uses) and edit one of the .reg files and change the header to match the one that your system uses.
