2D Real-Time Strategy

The 3rd part of the Command & Conquer series finally has a new graphics engine, a mixture of voxel and bitmap graphics. Of course a lot of new units were added, like hover tanks, subterrainian units or the Mammoth MKII, this time GDI and NOD fight again. The AI was also improved a little.

You ever played Cannon Fodder? This is much alike, the playing is much the same, only with much much better resolutions. It's time of World War II, and England has made and trained a small group of special elite forces called commandos. You can control up to 5 or 6 men at the same level. Every time you have lost any of your men, you must start all over again, or the end won't be affirmative, and you'll have to start all over it anyway, so it's good thing to save the games and rather often. You can click on any Nazi soldier to see the scope he sees while moving, split the screen onto 6 small ones, leaving the death-traps behind, sniper-shooting, flying planes, diving, driving trucks tanks and other vehicles, using boats, and more. The games is taken to the very tiny edge in detailed world, everything's there, and nicely inputed together.

The dirty 1/2 dozen are back, in all new dark. Ready for more covert operations, and secret missions. The new technologies are ready to be destroyed, and the nazi forces are now tougher than ever. Their guards are now trained for that commando scum. First time there were uneasy to sneak in, this time, it's impossible to sneak out. Will you come in?

Dune 2000 is a remake of the classic Dune 2 updated for Windows. In this Real-Time Strategy, you can play one of the three houses, the evil Harkonnen, the greed filled Ordos or the noble Atreides. Mine the planet for spice to buy your army and then wipe out the enemy factions.

Set in the 1920's, it's your job to take over the city, any way you can (murder, bribe, steel, etc.)! A combination of Sim City like style (it's a fake city, and the only connection to the 'real world' is the era) and turn-based planning, where you have lieutenants to control and do the dirty work for you. The more blocks in the city you take over, the more people you have loving your work, making it easier to control each area. But be careful, there are other gangs out there that may not like your work, so blood can get spilled easily.
